ADIVINACIÓN es un reflejo del sentir de este acercamiento que hemos tenido desde hace algún tiempo a la posibilidad de una vida en la dimensión de la noche, a la probabilidad de un despertar en los sueños, de conexión con lo inconsciente. Un acto dominado por el misterio pero cuya guía antigua ha sido trazada por diferentes tradiciones para interpretación de generaciones venideras.

ADIVINACIÓN expresa el respeto a esta oportunidad invisible al alcance de todo soñante que lo intente, y el aura mística que su deseo y preparación puede levantar.

OMEN cree en la capacidad del espectador de interiorizar lo proyectado en la pantalla, de hacer suyo el sonido, y tener un sueño libre muy personal pero influenciado por la película, los tres minutos, que contemplan el sueño de la mujer y la luna, son un espacio para que el sueño lúcido o samsárico ocurra dentro.

DIRECTORS STATEMENT

OMEN is a reflection of the feeling we have had for some time now of this approach to the possibility of a life in the dimension of the night, to the probability of an awakening in dreams, of a connection with the unconscious. An act dominated by mystery but whose ancient guide has been traced by different traditions for interpretation by future generations.

OMEN expresses respect for this invisible opportunity within reach of every dreamer who tries it, and the mystical aura that this desire and preparation for it can raise.

OMEN believes in the viewer’s ability to internalize what is projected on the screen, to make the sound their own, and to have a free dream that is very personal but influenced by the film, the three minutes, which contemplate the dream of the woman and the moon, are a space for lucid or samsaric dreaming to occur within.

BIO BELEN

Belén Alvarado (1999), Directora de «por si me pierdo y crepito en polvo». Estudió cine en la Universidad de Cuenca. Su trabajo se centra en la intervención fotográfica y el juego de la memoria en la imagen.

Belén Alvarado (1999), Director of “por si me pierdo y crepito en polvo”. She studied film at the University of Cuenca. Her work is focused on photographic intervention and the game of memory in the image.

BIO JOSÉ

José Cardoso, papá de Seydú, cineasta, ilustrador y diseñador gráfico; ha desarrollado películas de ficción, animación y documentales, sobre temas que giran en torno al surrealismo, la conciencia y el anticolonialismo. Sus obras como Iwianch, The Devil Deer (94 min. 2021) y What the Soil Remembers (29 min. 2023), Flowers (29 min. 2024) fueron premiadas en IFFR Rotterdam, Ann Arbor Film Festival, Sheffield Doc Fest, Regina, CSFF y Ningbo China, entre otros y seleccionado en Sitges, La Habana, Oberhausen, VIFF, e-flux, FIDBA, Kurzfilm Hamburg, BlackStar Film Festival, MIDBO, ImagineNative, entre otros.

José Cardoso, Seydú’s father, filmmaker, illustrator and graphic designer; he has developed fiction, animation and documentary films, on themes revolving around surrealism, consciousness and anti-colonialism. His works such as Iwianch, The Devil Deer (94 min. 2021) and What the Soil Remembers (29 min. 2023), Flowers (29 min. 2024)  was awarded at IFFR Rotterdam, Ann Arbor Film Festival, Sheffield Doc Fest, Regina, CSFF and Ningbo China, among others and selected at Sitges, La Habana, Oberhausen, VIFF, e-flux, FIDBA, Kurzfilm Hamburg, BlackStar Film Festival, MIDBO, ImagineNative, among others.
